This little guy sits at the opening of the garage door at night and keeps the bears out. I will ask Acrid Hermit if he knows the toad's secret to keeping the bears away. (Is that a mosquito in front of him? Maybe his midnight snack!)
(June 26th): Acrid Hermit tells me that, "The toad was hopping through the woods on an early spring day when he heard a half-hiberbnating bear complaining about the bugs buzzing in his ears. Seeing the toad, the bear begged him to eat the bugs, and the toad said, 'I'll do you this favor if you promise that you will do one for me.'"
