Apartment - Finished Living Space

Take a look at the older "apartment" posts to remember what it looked like in the beginning. It was just a shell, no insulation, nothing.

I will be tiling the space under the counter (the blue area) and maybe the 3/4 wall. I already have some really cool tiles for it.

Ok, so it's not finished. We still need to replace the missing cabinet door, stain the cabinets, and add trim to the wall that the water heater is hiding behind....and the chains should be cut from the ceiling light....

Finished Project

I really enjoyed doing the tile. After the spackling and painting I might do the wall behind the stove....or under the counter.

The Making of a Pellet Stove Pad

The pellet stove for the apartment needed something to set upon, so this is what I made:

(Of course I must always be multi-tasking! I was probably planning the next project. Oh yeah, it was Monica asking me to work for her at the store next Sunday.)

He was here today taking measurements and will start the excavating tomorrow! Yippee! Hopefully the apartment will have running water next week. I asked him about tree cutting for the pastures, since he is also a landscaper, logger, do just about anything type of guy. I want to leave the evergreens, and he said that the Hemlocks are all getting this blight and will soon be gone! It is caused by a tiny white bug of some sort. Aaacckk! I love evergreens! Last summer Tim had pointed out a couple on the property that are already dead at the top, but I didn't think it would spread to all of them. Darn bugs! 

Apartment Progress

It is coming along, slowly. But Tim is doing almost ALL the work by himself, except for the wall-framing help from my brother, Joe, and the spackling that I try to make time for. 

I will be doing the painting also, which I am so excited to do!

If only that darn spackling didn't take so long....and need 3 coats!
